A PROJECT PROMOTED BY CALA LOCA AS PART OF THE COLLABORATION WITH WORLD SUSTAINABILITY ORGANIZATION

THE ENVIRONMENT WE WOULD LIKE

Human pressure over the past few decades on marine ecosystems has come to endanger their biodiversity and make it possible to alter their ecosystem functions.

Cala Loca aims to contribute to the achievement of "good environmental status" of marine waters, achieved through the protection and restoration of marine ecosystems.

For this reason, for years Cala Loca has chosen to follow a path aimed at respecting the environment and the sustainability of our planet, through the adoption of behaviors that aim to reduce waste, consciously use resources, and use recyclable and biodegradable materials.

In line with these goals, in 2023 it decided to join the Friend of the Sea "Sustainable Beaches" initiative, a project sponsored by the World Sustainability Organization, an international organization that promotes sustainability as a solution to preserve the planet's resources, restore critical habitats and protect endangered species. Friend of the Sea has become the leading certification standard for products and services that respect and protect the marine environment, and Cala Loca is proud to be one of the very first beaches to receive this prestigious certification.

With this in mind, activities promoted in 2023 by Cala Loca include the implementation of a survey designed with the aim of collecting information on citizens' behavioral habits.

The data collected, will be analyzed by experts and will be the impetus for targeted projects, awareness campaigns, and what can be useful to limit our footprints on planet Earth.
